Reason as the Leading Motive

Liberal Discussion of Ayn Rand

Posted by Jerry on August 8, 2007

A liberal blogger has begun a discussion of Ayn Rand on his blog. He is obviously dismissive of her philosophy, as are most of his commentors; I suspect it is precisely because they have only a superficial, strawman understanding of Objectivism. In fact, one of the points raised in his comments section closely resembles the critique of human excellence raised by the mediocre philosopher.

But for some notably insightful exposition of Objectivism, check out the comments by Noumenal Self and some Greg.

P.S.: Edited to correct a misattribution.
